Will and Laura's Visit

We had the pleasure of company Columbus weekend.
Will, Laura, Hanah and Ben stayed with us for a few days.

We went to Woods Hole Aquarium.

We spent a lot of time at home in the yard (when it wasn't raining).

Philip's Birthday #3

Philip is 3!

Sept - Oct

We started piano lessons at home with animated computer software that connects to the electronic piano.  This is really a nice tool and we all enjoy it.  Nate, Janice and Philip are all playing daily.

A bowl of herbs I picked at the end of September.  I dried most of this in the dehydrator.
I have more to pick and dry before the first freeze.

On homecoming weekend (last weekend in September) we went to CGA.  Ben was supposed to do the fly-over but due to low cloud cover he had to cancel.  We (I) was happy to be back to CGA... I had not been back since the day of graduation.  I am so proud to have graduated from there!  Thank you Dad and Karen for helping and encouraging me through it all!

Here is another shot of us after the Pass and Review parade.
Nate especially loved the bayonets on the marching rifles.

Philip, Nate and Janice...

While we were gone Ben was pressure washing the roof...
It's a big job and the other half still needs to get done.

God Bless!

A Visit from a Flock of Turkeys

This is what we woke up to on Sunday morning!

The children found some prized turkey feathers afterwards in the yard.

Cooking on our Fire Pit

We have been learning to cook on an open fire once a week.  Usually on Saturdays or Sundays.  We've had a good time so far and our skills are getting better each time.  So far we are just cooking dinner on our pit... eventually we are going to schedule one day a month to go without electricity/gas (an idea from our friend Judith ;-)  We are even going to go so far as to collect pails of water the night before for use during the following day.  (I don't plan on doing laundry on these days...)

Anyways, here are some pictures over the past few weeks of our open fire cooking.
